There are many times in my life when I look at this life from a different perspective.
One perspective that I like to explore is of someone looking in on our world as a being from another planet.
I usually take on this frame of mind when I see how badly we as humans behave and treat each other.
Why are some people so angry, uncooperative, selfish, disagreeable, and mean?
Isn't there another way to express ourselves that will clearly describe how we are feeling or thinking without causing others pain?
Some claim that they are just being honest. This kind of "honesty" hurts others, causes pain, and can lead to a damaged, broken, sometimes irreparable relationship.
Don't get me wrong, I want people to be honest with me. This is how we build trust and respect. I just don't feel that being mean in the name of honesty is the way to go. In all seriousness, I would rather hear what I don't want to hear than to be told a lie.
Sometimes taking on a different perspective just means putting myself in another person's shoes.
I call this my double-edged sword because my mind naturally goes to this place whenever I hear someone's story.
I firmly believe that there are two sides to every "story", no matter how believable or unbelievable the situation may be.
Can anyone tell me where the following statement comes from?
"One man seems right until another comes forward to tell his story"
More to come...same place, another time...
